Hi! I’m Laura.
Friend & Family to Many, Wife of One, Mother of TwoWhy I’m Here
In the spring of 2004, I met the love of my life, Todd Glass. As our love grew, so did a brain tumor (unbeknownst to us). The vows we took more than a decade ago have have been more about “in sickness” than “in health,” but I wouldn’t trade this life for another. My story includes two children to hold and two in heaven to miss. And while a series of rare diagnoses and health challenges aren’t the path I would’ve chosen, I cannot imagine not knowing the beautiful people I do because of it.
In another life, I was a freelance writer for about dozen magazines. Having a public diary isn’t really my style. But my hope is that maybe by writing about my journey, it’ll encourage someone else. You’d be surprised how many people live with a rare or chronic health condition or know someone who does. I may even have a few in my house; that’s a story for another day. Not everyone who suffers has a voice or is able to use it. God has given me so much. I want to make my words count.
In late 2021, my family moved to Hawaii for my health.
